Craft your own homemade ghost lights for Halloween out of recycled products you have around the house.
I was looking around on how to make homemade some Halloween lights for my sidewalk and deck. In my search I found that you could make ghost lights out of milk jugs. What a cool and fun idea! So I collected a few milk jugs and gathered up the rest of the supplies I would need such as a cutting knife and magic markers. The milk jug featured in this picture is my milk jug ghost light I crafted. I used a colored string of lights; using orange lights would be absolutely a timeless look for Halloween.
This is a fun Halloween craft that you could do with your family; even your children will love making these. I know my son got a kick out them. As a suggestion parents should be present when using the cutting knife. The kids will love drawing fun faces on the milk jugs.
How to Make Ghost Jugs
Here are directions on how to craft your own ghost lights. Just gather up your supplies and follow the directions. In no time at all, you’ll have yourself a homemade ghost jug light. Get started now. Earlier then the better to be prepared for Halloween.
- Clean plastic gallon milk jugs
- Black permanent marker
- Craft knife
- Holiday lights
Step 1: Draw ghost eyes and mouths on several jugs. Leave lid on them so your jug don’t get a dent in it while making the faces.
Step 2: Use a craft knife to cut a half-dollar-size hole in the back of each jug. (Parents help your child with this!)
Step 3: Then arrange the ghosts near each other and string the lights between them. Stuff several bulbs into each of the jugs. Plug in the lights to enjoy!
